We should go {on an Adventure}

Maybe one day, in a few years when LittleMiss is a bit older, it will actually be possible.

A road trip, through a few states or a trip to another country. It's all possible, just not now. I can only imagine just how exciting and fun-filled it will be.

But for now our adventures involve museums, zoos, parks, lakes and water parks.

And random antique/repurposed/thrift shops

And oh what fun adventures we have.

"It started off with a trip to see GanGan at her new job and pick up the stroller(that almost crushed mommies foot).
It was fun seeing GanGan, she made me smile and I liked my apple slice.

Then we went to mommys work and had lunch. It was really tasty. A really nice man brought me some yogurt smoothie, saying it was a gift from the kitchen. Mommy mixed it with my pee and it tasted delicious.

Because it was so nice outside we didn't look at a lot of the art. Instead we went out for a walk around the gardens and other museum, only to get slightly side tracked by a vintage store.
It was fun, the people were really nice and made me laugh when they made faces.

We had fun on our walk. Buy there were so many other people on the trails too!! It was hard to take my nap with all the commotion. My feet were fun to look at, my spoon and mommys keys were fun to play with.

Mommy took us for a quick walk through of a few more boutiques. It was really nice to see my stroller and diaper bag where mommy left it when it wouldn't fit inside the stores.

Then we went to the fountain!!
It was so pretty!!
Mommy an I had a good time sitting and looking at the fountain, but she wouldn't let me reach the water.
You can bet I kept trying.

I may have started rubbing my eyes, so mommy thought I was tired and we headed home.

I also may have fallen asleep in the car...

It was just so comfy and nice outside. And I was worn out from all the fun and my playing with my favorite you: an empty cup.

It was a fun adventure day with my mommy."

Really hope y'all caught on to this mostly being written by LittleMiss...

The Bloggy Mom Bloggy Dare

I'm sure you've noticed the new button in the top left hand corner <<<

I've decided to follow a Blogging Dare! Where you publish a post everyday of the year! Yes it is not easy for me at all. But what really doesn't help is that when I make a post from my phone, my phone won't always publish. I'm going to try to keep a better eye on that, but please be patient with me! Some days I will follow a prompt, or some days I'll follow what I want to write :)

If you're curious or interested head over and check it out!

Vegan Deliciousness!!

There is a fantastic food truck (now also has a bakery) called Kind Kitchen. I loved them the first time I had their Indian Taco. Fantastic. They support local farmers, make vegan AND gluten free items.

The coffee shop I work for recently incorporated them into our pastry selection, a brilliant idea.

I had to do some prep work and walked in to these beauties:

Vegan- Gluten Free Red Velvet Cupcakes.

I shouldn't have to say more, but I will go on...

I want this for all major events in my life.
Valentines Day.
Birthdays.
Anniversaries.
Just because.
"Oh we got into a fight, here's a 'sorry I made you mad cupcake'"

...LittleMiss's birthday too...

It's not at all dry, like you might expect of a gluten free pastry. And the 'cream-cheese' frosting isn't like the traditional cream-cheese frosting (that I honestly am not much of a fan of...). Which completely makes sense because it's vegan 'cream-cheese' frosting. I honestly haven't had many tries of regular Red Velvet cakes, but this one is just...fantastic.

If you are ever in Arkansas you have to try them.

A {glimpse} at Warm Weather Days

LittleMiss enjoying a lazy day in the sunshine on the shoreline.

I was lucky enough to leave work and still have a chance to enjoy time with my wee one.  Because this is only our second and last day of nice weather this week
(tomorrow is supposed to be like winter) we went to the lake. She really liked the waves.

We has a good time, she even fell asleep for a little bit after I put her in her carrier.
I'm pretty sure she liked the bumpy stroller ride and seeing all the rocks and waves.

I may have collected quite a few adorable little shells.

Then we came home and sat outside for a while soaking up the warmth.

I love the days I can really spend time with my LittleMiss.

Modesty?

Now that I am a mother, I really understand and appreciate the idea of modesty.
Jessica Rey did a fantastic job with this presentation. My wardrobe has slowly become more and more modest, but I hadn't yet thought of summer and swimsuits. Really not wearing a bikini hadn't crossed my mind, after all I am proud of my post baby body. Maybe throw some shorts on. I obviously have had no issues with being rather un-modest, even knowing that what I wore would cause men to lust and view me as an object.

 But that's not me anymore.
I prefer being modest. I have even had several men tell me how refreshing it is to see a woman showing modesty instead of skin. In a way it's really like showing that you respect yourself. That you know that you're not a piece of meat, not a 'tool'.

I love this dress. It's not only beautiful with its lace, pearls and bow, but it's modest. While you can't see the hemline, it does come just above my knees.

Or this beautiful dress:
(you'll see this in another post soon)

What is so fantastic is that in todays fashion, you can be modest and still look adorable and attractive. Look at what Jessica is wearing in her video! fantastic! I am so thankful that I have been able to find several retailors who are starting to make more modest clothes.

Yellow Sleeveless Dress

This dress is adorable and surprisingly short, but it would be so cute with a layered lace slip!

CHEVRON BELT DRESS – BLACK/TAUPE
(from Hannah Jane Boutique)

This is great because it also comes in blue!

Better yet look at these absolutely adorable swimsuits from Rey Swimwear!! I love all of these!! I am definitely saving up for one...or two...

caroline in creamsicle

I am truly hoping that womens modesty starts to make a reappearance. It would be great to encourage little girls to use their brains and not their bodies. And to show little boys and men that women are gorgeous while being covered, that we do still deserve respect.

Whats your take on modesty? Any thoughts on changing your style just a little?

My Seven Month Girl

Happy Seven Month (and 1day) Birthday, My Love!!

You, my dearest, are making me quite the proud mommy.
Sitting up on your own, for several minutes at a time.
Recognizing and reaching out for me.
Becoming so talkative and giggly.
Able to hold, grasp and carry things. Purposefully reaching for them.
You're tolerating tummy time for longer periods.
Today you even managed to do a backwards type of crawl for about two feet.

Your little head is growing more beautiful hair, the faux hawk slowly fading away! Losing your faux-hawk makes me a little sad, but I can not wait to see how your hair is going to be. Curly? Straight? Brown, reddish?

Sleep well my little love.
I know all too well that soon you will be passing out where ever you're crawling to, or in a pile of whatever toys you've decided to play with. You're independence is growing with every day.
Sleep well my little love, you're safe in my arms and in my lap.

{Wordless Wednesday}

It was going to look like a rough Sunday when I received this pretty rose. It really did help. :)
